Although it is possible to visit North Korea though certain travel agencies, very few westerners have successfully immigrated to North Korea, and citizens of South Korea are completely forbidden to enter North Korea.

Can foreigners live in North Korea?

Foreigners in North Korea – be they businessmen or diplomats – are required to hire local staff, with whom they spend a lot of time. Again, contrary to popular belief, foreigners living in Pyongyang are free to go where they please, visit whichever restaurants they like, and generally live a relatively normal life.

Do they have bars in North Korea?

At any rate, there is a huge number of bars in Pyongyang where beer is available. In the summer and during festivals, beer tents pop up around Pyongyang. Tourists may buy beer with foreign currency without the limitations that apply to North Koreans. Beer in international hotels cost about two euros.
